Connnah’s Quay and Shotton St David’s Day Celebrations

Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam are working in partnership with Flintshire County Council, Shotton Town Council and Connah’s Quay Town Council, to organise a St. David’s Celebration Café in Connah’s Quay on as a part of the wider celebrations in Flintshire.

The Celebration Café, will be held at Connah’s Quay Civic Hall between 10am-12pm Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020 and there is a very warm welcome to all to come and have a cup of tea or coffee whilst enjoying Welsh themed performances from Shotton and Connah’s Quay schools and hearing the result of the Shotton and Connah’s Quay St. David’s Day window decorating competitions.

Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam’s Chief Officer, Gill Stephen, said,

“There is a warm welcome for people of all ages to join in the fun, whether they are Welsh speakers or not. This is an opportunity for everyone in Connah’s Quay and Shotton to celebrate the Welsh identity of their towns. We are also looking forward very much to seeing the shops decorated on a St David’s Day theme for the Window Dressing Competition.”

The winners of the St. David’s Day window decorating competition will also be announced during the event and the winning businesses will receive an award and a prize. These celebrations are a part of numerous events that will take place across Wales to celebrate our Patron Saint’s Day, so use #DewiFflint on social media for information, to share photos, and to follow the event throughout the day.
