St David’s Day Celebrations

Yet again this year, the time has come to prepare for the St David’s Day celebrations, and we intend on celebrating the day in style.

A week earlier than usual, we will be celebrating St. David’s Day in Flint town centre on Friday, 22nd February and celebrations at Wrexham will take place on St. David’s Day itself, Friday, 1st March. As part of the celebrations, the annual parade through the streets of Wrexham will take place at 1:00pm.

Wrexham town centre and several Flintshire towns will be decorated in red, white and green as we’ll also be holding our annual business window dressing competition yet again this year.

Help from volunteers

To ensure these events are a success, we will need the help of volunteer stewards, particularly for the parade in Wrexham. For both events, every steward will be given guidance by the staff of Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam and they will be loaned a high viz jacket.

Volunteering in Flint

Stewards for the Flint event will need to be available from around 9.30am to 11:30am.

Volunteering in Wrexham

We will need at least 20 stewards in Wrexham, primarily to stand and guide people at the corners/junctions of streets and to ensure that the parade moves safely along the route. Stewards for the Wrexham parade will need to be available from 12:00pm and assistance to tidy away at the end of the parade would also be much appreciated.

We ask kindly for your support by offering your time to volunteer to steward the event.

If you would like to be a steward either at Flint or Wrexham’s event you’re welcome to contact us by email, or phone 01352 744 040.
