In partnership with Flintshire County Council, Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam annually organises St David’s Day celebrations and this year the celebrations will include a face-to-face element for the first time since the pandemic.
We are happy to reveal that a public celebration will be held in Holywell on Thursday March 2nd 2023 and we warmly invite the whole community to come together to celebrate Wales’s Patron Saint in a fun filled morning.
The will be a parade on the High Street under the leadership of Cambria Band at 10:30am ending at Tower Gardens where artists including Jacob Elwy, Megan Lee and Andy Hickie will be performing.
We will also be announcing the winners of the St David’s Day Window Dressing Competition for Holywell businesses, while also announcing the winners of other Flintshire towns on our social media.
Cllr Ian Roberts, Leader Flintshire County Council said:
“We are absolutely delighted to be working with Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam once again to celebrate St David’s Day.
Celebrating our Welsh culture and heritage is a very special event in Flintshire and is very important to us. The programme of events is an opportunity for everyone to participate and enjoy the celebrations.
I would like to thank Menter Iaith for all their hard work pulling this varied programme together and the organisations who are involved and are participating in the activities”.
You can also join in the fun by following Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam on social media where we will be sharing various activities including colouring pictures, a St David’s Day Quiz and a family keep-fit fun video called Symud gyda Tedi.
These celebrations are a part of numerous events that will take place across Flintshire and Wales to celebrate our Patron Saint’s Day, so to join the celebrations, remember to use #DewiSiryFflint and follow Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam’s social media platforms for more news.
