It is with great pleasure we announce the return of Mold’s Welsh Community Festival…

GWYDDGIG is Back!

Following the resounding success of last year’s event, Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam are happy to announce Gwyddgig is back to provide opportunities for everyone to experience, learn and enjoy our beautiful language, through music, art, talks, workshops, and interactive activities.

On Saturday July 12th the Daniel Owen Square and the High Street will be a feast for the senses as local school children and popular artists such as Meinir Gwilym and Al Lewis will be performing to entertain the crowds on Market Day.

There will also be the opportunity to join in with Story and Song sessions with Magi Ann, a Silent Disco with the Urdd, workshops with Mr Phormula, a Magic Show with Professor Llusern, craft sessions and much more in various locations around town.

Maiwenn Berry, Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam’s Chief Officer emphasised that:

‘The festival will be a fantastic opportunity to introduce exciting and modern Welsh music to an audience that would not normally hear it from day to day and highlight the fun and excitement to be gained from taking part in a Welsh language event in the community.‘

There’ll be something for everyone during the day and it will all be FREE!

The festival will conclude with an evening gig at Theatr Clwyd from the band ‘Daniel Lloyd a Mr Pinc’ to celebrate 20 years since the release of their first album ‘Goleuadau Llundain’. Welsh Language Manager Angharad Madog said;

“Theatr Clwyd is very pleased to be working with Menter Iaith again this year. We look forward to putting on the evening entertainment here at the theatre and closing the festival with Daniel Lloyd a Mr Pinc… plus a few additional surprises!”
