Whichever language you speak at home, Welsh-medium education can give your child additional opportunities, experiences and skills. Choosing a Welsh-medium education provides your child with the opportunity to extend their bilingual skills creatively and academically. Before School Age

Nurserys

There are Welsh Language and bilingual day nurseries in Flintshire and Wrexham which introduce Welsh to children from the outset, through activities in Welsh and by communicating in Welsh with the babies and toddlers.

Welsh-Medium Playgroups Cylchoedd Meithrin – Meithrin

Learning and development sessions for children from two years old to school age, offering the opportunity to socialise and learn by playing in Welsh.

Nursery classes in school

Some schools have Nursery classes and these classes will usually be in Welsh if the school is Welsh.

Don’t worry if you don’t speak Welsh! All organisations welcome non-Welsh speaking parents who wish to introduce Welsh to their children. Try to use as much Welsh as possible with your children – this will help them develop the ability to speak confidently and naturally.
